The Running DoctorDr. John N. Thomas, D.C., The Running Doctor
Dr. John N. Thomas, D.C.,
Dr. Thomas recounts some of his own experiences at the doctor's office. "I've never really liked just sitting in the office, waiting for what seems like hours for someone to come in and ask three or for questions only to be left again to wait. Then, the doctor comes in, looks over the questions written by the nurse only to write a prescription, and never look at me, never touch me." That's why things are different at Allied Healthcare Clinics. "It's not uncommon for me to spend an hour on my first encounter with a patient. I do this to get to know the patient on a more personal level, and truly understand where they are coming from, what kind of frustrations they've dealt with when it comes to their condition. I don't like to ever have a patient leave without a full understanding of their condition, of their options and my cell phone number, " said Dr. Thomas. He continued, "It's about the patient's getting the care they really need, not just a Bandaid or a pill. We never turn a
patient away. If a patient doesn't come back, it's their choice. " A vegetarian since 1993, Dr. Thomas follows his own guidelines for good health. For exercise, he runs, swims or cycles. He has trained for and run two marathons, including one considered the most difficult in the world, The Great Wall Marathon. "It was, without question, the hardest thing I've ever done." While training for the marathon, Dr. Thomas had a bulging disc that he treated with the same IDD Therapy® he recommends to his patients. One month later he was in China, running up the steps of the Great Wall. Dr. Thomas lives in Fayetteville with his wife, Charlene, an accountant. He has a grown daughter and two sons at home. In his spare time, Dr. Thomas is involved in music recording and piano. He loves cooking, eating and travel. His family is involved in their church in Peachtree City. The Running Doctor Dr. Thomas works to optimize the performance and hasten the recovery of injured athletes. Utilizing muscle stripping, biomechanical assessments, ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation and full body adjustments, Dr. Thomas improves the flexibility, speed, agility, strength, power, and recovery times of local professional and amateur athletes. A marathon runner and a vegetarian, Dr. Thomas follows his own good guidelines for health and nutrition.
